How to read this tool. Scenarios cover every win or loss in the four remaining ACC games (16 in all). Because goals can break ties, each scenario is also checked against every scoreline that could change a seed, and a seed that depends on the scores is marked with *. A game decided by a shootout counts as a one-goal win, the way the ACC records it.
Tiebreakers. Standings use ACC wins. Two tied teams are separated by their head-to-head result, then goal differential in ACC games, then goals scored, then a coin flip. Three or more tied teams use head-to-head results, then goal differential, head-to-head goal differential, goals scored, head-to-head goals scored and a blind draw. Goal differential counts at most 3 goals per game either way, and goals scored count at most 3 per game. Head-to-head can still separate a team that beat, or lost to, every other tied team when not all of them played each other. When a step splits a three-team tie and two remain level, those two restart with the two-team steps; larger ties restart the multi-team steps. Source: the 2026 ACC Field Hockey Championship Manual.
